Written from an American point of view, but some real essential lessons that could we would do well do implement. America is a very rich country but essentially, very wasteful as well and it is a well known fact that the USA is responsible for the largest amount of pollution in our world.
In South Africa we are doing well in following the examples of the Americans, but without the necessary space that they have as a country.Either way, having the resources or the space, or even not having it, is never an excuse to be wasteful. Neither is oppression, feeling like a victim or having an unhappy childhood. As a race we need to pull ourselves together and realise that we can indeed be a happier, healthier people if we simplified and implemented at least some of these ideas.
And take note that living a simpler or greener life does not mean that you have to go without your normal luxurious items. It simply means that you slightly adjust your thinking (or maybe START thinking altogether), realise that God create one huge, wonderful system that is co-dependent on each component and also to slightly adjust the way that (or with what) you do certain things. None of these things will take away your comfort or your survival. In most cases, it will provide for you a healthier and happier life style that you can truly enjoy for the longest time in comfort with the ones you love.
